  Baurzhan Momyshuly is a legendary name. Hero of the Soviet Union, a famous writer, a famous soldier of the Great War, a real people's batyr.
  Bauyrzhan Momyshuly was born on December 24, 1910 in a distant village of the Zhualinsky district of the Zhambyl region in the family of a cattle breeder. In 1929, he graduated from Aulie-Ata school - 9-year school. After school, he went on studying in Turkestan.
  In January 1941, he became an artillery commander and was sent to Almaty. Baurzhan Momyshuly was appointed commander of a battalion. Next is the front.
  During World War 2, he was the only Kazakh - a division commander. He went through the whole long war, first with the rank of senior lieutenant, and met the end of the war as a colonel. He commanded a battalion, regiment and division. After the World War Baurzhan Momyshuly was fond of writing

There was only one goal - to prevent the enemy from reaching Moscow ... I measured the distance with a compass, we were 30 kilometers from Moscow. Moscow was under bombardment.
  ... It is a rainy day. We manage to stop the Germans on the first day. On the second day in Kryukovo, there is a six-hour street fight, on the third day - a 12-hour street fight is already in the center. Every other day, street fighting continues for 18 hours.
  ... We did not give up the station. On December 8, 1941, we launched a strong four-hour artillery preparation; we drive the Germans out of the station, and capture many trophies. Only in the sector of the 1073th regiment were captured 18 tanks ... We approached Istra, began to pursue the enemy."
