  Your pen friend complains he has been very busy lately, attending school, studying for exams, taking preparatory courses, going to the gym. He is upset because he is always in a hurry, but still always has a lot of things to do and too little time to do them properly. Write a letter in which: • tell about your routine at present • say what your priorities are • give advice on time management • tell about your plans for the future. Write a letter of at least 100 words.

  Hello Kate,

          It was a real pleasure for me to have received your last letter. You listed lots of things and errands you have to do during a day and it seems to me you are annoyed with the situation.

           As to me, I also have a great deal of work to do both at school and at home. Apart from doing ordinary school homework, I'm preparing for the college exams, I hope you remember, I mentioned them in my last letter. I study at home because I prefer working on my own in a quiet place, rather than sitting in an auditorium full of raucous teenagers.

          I also have to look after my younger six-years-old brother when my mum at work or when she does shopping. More often than not I have to cook dinner for the family because my mother and father work till late on weekdays.

          As you probably guess it's very difficult to find some time for doing sports, but I do, so I keep fit, nevertheless all obstacles. I even find a few hours a day to help my classmate with her homework !

          So, Kate, for the first thing, I would advise you to avoid procrastination especially when it comes to dealing with your household errands. Then, I strongly recommend you to make up a to-do list for a day and stick to it. I promise you will definitely feel how it is getting easier for you to approach any problem that you considered to be unsolvable. Well, I hope this will help.

           O, I hardly forgot to mention that I'm flying to Turkey with my aunt the day after tomorrow. She has just called and has invited me to join her to spend her vacation in Instanbul together. I'm sure that is going to be the trip to remember ! I will write you back when I return.
